The
test system uses a proportional actuated electro-magnetic brake unit to simulate
different fastening process
characteristics of threaded joint. This is achieved
by microprocessor control from drive-down under no load via snug
fit threshold
to final tightening.
The
next cycle commences after a preset time delay, and allows fully continuous
automatic operation. This eliminates
time losses due to backing-off after each
tightening cycle.
The
no load rotating speed, the tightening torque and the angle of rotation from the
snug fit threshold to the final
torque (joint rate) for each test cycle can be
recorded.
A
statistical evaluation can be printed out after any required number of
measurements.
(Patent-No.

A
modular system for every application.
The
brake units can be supplied in seven different sizes. For small screwdrivers or
nutrunners the effects of acceleration
of mass are avoided. A large torque range
is available.
One
electronic control and evaluation unit can operate any one of six brakes.
For
testing one specific size of nutrunners it is enough to connect one brake unit.
The
components are available individually for installation in existing facilities,
or as complete systems in a desk style cabinet.
