July 2001 SCHATZ became a public company In 2000, SCHATZ in Germany were once more able to continue their steady upward trend. A development that is to be further strengthened in the future. In July, as a prelude to even greater success, SCHATZ GmbH became a public company, SCHATZ AG, retroactive to the 1st January 2001, with the aim of being listed on the stock exchange at a later date. SCHATZ, in the meantime, have established themselves as a world leading system integrator in the Q-business (quality assurance) growth market. Extensive investments in the fields of research and development, as well as the consistent extension of the scope of after sales services offered, led to this top position within the market. Now, every 5th employee works in the field of research and development. These activities focus in particular on the development of new software products for quality assurance. Their own manufacturing capacity has been extended by almost 100 percent. Delivery time reductions of up to 60% have been ensured by the introduction of a new computing center connected with a re-engineering process. The intensive extension of the export business has contributed substantially to the business success of SCHATZ AG. Due to the establishment of several service and distribution sites of their own in America, Europe and South East Asia, the export share has in the meantime increased to about 50% of the business volume. The newly designed software product CEUS 8.0, an innovative standard platform for checking bolt quality in the automotive industry, provides the decisive basis of future growth. SCHATZ, for the first time, offers a system for the complete risk management of high-quality assembly process within series production. The next step is now the company's admission to the stock exchange by 2003.

The Worldwide First DKD-Calibration Laboratory for Angle SCHATZ reached a new milestone to assure quality in nuts and
bolts assembly. Since February 21, 2000 there is the technology to not only
calibrate torque, but also angle, traceable to national standards.
